Car rental terms and conditions
Tur Company GMBH offers car rental services, from its own fleet or as an intermediary agent, having over 50 new vehicles, in a varied range of brands and models, with the acceptance of the following terms and conditions by the customer. If you do not agree with any of the terms below, you should not continue making the reservation.
The customer who rents the car must be at least 21 years old at the time of the conclusion of the car rental contract (ID/bill or passport will be presented) as well as a driver's license with at least 1 year of validity.
The driver's license of the person renting the car must be valid in Romania (EU licenses)
The responsibility for violating the traffic laws rests exclusively with the driver who knowingly or unknowingly violated the respective rule, he bears the amount of the fine and the corresponding fine points.
Leaving the country with the rented cars can only be done after the acceptance of the rent a car company, in writing under certain conditions. A daily limit of km can be applied and exceeding will be charged with 0.10 EUR/km. An additional fee may be requested for obtaining the documents for crossing the borders, and the daily rate and the deposit, in these cases, may increase. If the obligation to notify the car rental company is violated, the client will be responsible for the entire value of the car in any case of theft or accident. Including if the car rental company agrees to leave Romania, in the event that defects and/or road accidents occur during the rental contract, the Customer has the obligation to return the car to the territory of Romania.
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the rental company's cars. In case of non-compliance, a fee of 50 EUR will be charged.
The availability of a car for which you have requested a reservation will be confirmed within a maximum of 48 hours by email to the email address provided by you.
To register the reservation, an advance of EUR 50 can be requested, the amount that will be deducted from the total value of the rental days. In case of cancellation of the reservation or failure to show up to pick up the car, the amount paid as an advance will not be refunded.
An administration fee of 50 euros is charged for processing any damage and/or fines related to the rental period.
The standard delivery schedule is between 09:00 - 20:00, from Monday to Friday inclusive. For deliveries outside the mentioned program hours or on weekend days (Saturday, Sunday), a collection/handover fee of 50 EUR will be charged for the city of Bucharest, Otopeni Airport and Ilfov.
If the brand or model of vehicle chosen by the customer cannot be delivered for reasons not due to the customer (such as breakdowns or rental extensions), he will be offered a similar replacement car, without guaranteeing the rate.
Warranty for Damages
Payment of the guarantee is made in LEI, EUR or USD.
The return of the guarantee will be made exclusively in the currency in which it was paid. The guarantee will be used for the penalty, in cases of intentional damage found, when handing over the rented car, inside or outside the car, loss of documents or car keys, theft of car parts, etc.
The guarantee paid at the conclusion of the car rental contract will be returned upon recovery of the car in good working order and bodywork, with all the documents, accessories and equipment with which it was handed over to the customer. In the case of returning the car dirty or at night or in weather conditions that prevent the inspection of the car, the guarantee is returned in a maximum of 2 working days after the car is inspected in optimal conditions.
He is obliged to return the car on the date and location provided in the rental contract.
Pay&Go fuel policy
The car will be returned with the same amount of fuel (mentioned in the Delivery Sheet) that it had at the beginning of the rental period. Otherwise, the Customer will pay the difference between the existing fuel on return and the existing fuel on departure, at the rate of 2 EUR/liter. Credit is not granted for fuel in excess of the existing quantity at departure.
The customer must use only fuel purchased from authorized fuel stations to refuel the car.
Insurance variants
Standard Insurance with excess – Standard Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) insurance with high excess (800 EUR - 2000 EUR). If the car is damaged or stolen, you will pay up to the excess amount.
Partial Liability Insurance – Collision Damage Waiver (CDW+) with reduced excess (200 EUR - 1000 EUR). If the car is damaged or stolen, you will pay up to the excess amount. In the event of technical breakdowns of the vehicle during the rental contract due to causes that are not the customer's fault, we provide Roadside Assistance and Car Exchange within a maximum of 24 hours within the limit of availability.
Full Insurance - Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW) * - The guarantee/deductible retained is 0, and you will not pay anything in case of breakdown or theft of the rented vehicle if you do not find yourself in the situation of any Condition Not Covered by Insurance. In case of an accident or technical malfunctions, you will benefit from the 24/7 Roadside Assistance and Car Exchange service, within the limits of availability, throughout Romania.
* Customers under the age of 25 and customers who have a license obtained in countries where traffic on the right side do not benefit from the SCDW product (GUARANTEE 0)
Accidents or breakdowns
In case of accident or damage, the customer is obliged:
take all measures to limit damages;
to notify the nearest investigative body, police, prosecutor's office, requesting the preparation of legal documents;
to adequately insure the vehicle while it is not in use.
Documents that must be obtained from the nearest Police station or from the Insurer in case of accident, destruction or theft:
A. Minor accident, no victims, maximum 2 vehicles involved:
Amicable accident report completed in full
Declaration of the event given to the Insurer
RCA + Guilty car registration certificate (copy)
Contact phone number of the guilty person.
B. Serious accident or in which more than two cars are involved:
Minutes drawn up by the police officer;
The repair authorization given by the police officer;
Annex 2, blood alcohol test (in the case of accidents with a victim);
Declaration of the event given to the Insurer
If, upon handing over the car, all the documents from the Insurer (or the Police) necessary to open the claim file are not presented, the Customer will bear the full cost of the damages to the rented car according to the estimate received from the Car Rental Company.
In the event of an accident or breakdown due to the customer's fault (including the situation where the car is found hit in the parking lot and/or with chips in the glass surfaces) the customer will be withheld the warranty. If the cost of the repair is greater than EUR 5000 (justified by repair quote from a service unit approved by RAR), the customer will pay 20% of the damage value. The mentioned amounts can be paid in cash or with the card (present or not) that was used for the initial payment of the rent/guarantee.
The rental company undertakes that if the cost of repairing the damage caused by the customer is less than the value of the guarantee retained when returning the car, it will return the difference, justified by an estimate from a service unit approved by RAR.
Conditions not covered by Insurance
No compensation is granted or the insurance ceases to be effective in the following cases:
when the damage was caused intentionally by the customer or due to his negligence (e.g. for staining or burning the tapestry, breaking the window to enter the car, loss of on-board inventory).
when the damage is due to fires, explosions, etc., caused by customers using open fire or open flame lighting;
when the customer, intentionally, did not take measures to limit the damage and this results from the legally drawn up documents;
if at the time of the damage the car was driven by someone other than those listed in the rental contract;
damage caused to tires or rims (if they are not the result of a fire or accident;
driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs;
if the customer does not present the documents received from the police (in case of accident/damage/theft) when returning the car;
damage caused to some sub-assemblies or component parts of the car by non-compliance with the rules regarding loading and anchoring during transport, damage caused to both the exterior and interior of the car by the action of corrosive substances;
the damage caused to the vehicle during or as a result of towing, towing or transportation, cases where the customer entrusted, with his consent, the insured vehicle to a person who refuses to return it;
in the event that during the period of not using the vehicle or leaving it by the driver, the key was left in the ignition or in the vehicle or the doors (including the trunk) were not locked, the windows were not closed, the registration certificate was left in the car.
In all the above situations, the Customer is obliged to bear the full consideration of the damages caused to the car.
Payment methods
The customer pays in full, upon delivery of the car, both the value of the rent and optionals as well as the value of the guarantee and any additional fees established by the contract. We accept payment in cash or by Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro and Mastercard.
The rates do not include the cost of fuel, road taxes (other than the road vignette for Romania), any fines sent during the rental period, parking fees, damages that are not the subject of insurance. All these amounts will be paid by the Client.
